What is ESD Seating?
Static Path of ergoCentric ESD Chairs
1. Back
- Front and rear panels are covered with ESD compliant fabric or vinyl.
- ESD fabric or vinyl is secured to copper bands inside backrest. Interior copper bands and Mega Ohm (MO) resistor provides continuity of electrical conductance.
- Electrical discharge from copper bands travels through die cast aluminum back bar to metal frame of control mechanism.
2. Seat
- ESD fabric or vinyl is secured to copper bands inside seat. Interior copper bands and Mega Ohm (MO) resistor provides continuity of electrical conductance.
- Electrical discharge from copper bands travels through metal frame of control mechanism to gas lift.
3. Control Mechanism
- Metal frame of control mechanism makes contact with chrome gas lift.
4. Chrome Finish Gas Lift
- Spring plunger with ball bearing assures constant contact with gas lift for continuity throughout the chair.
5. Base
- Die cast aluminum base makes contact with gas lift.
6. Casters and Glides
- Casters and glides are conductive.
- Charge passes through casters or glides to conductive floor finish.
