MANUFACTURER PROFILE
The History of the Kore Stool:
1986: Rocking stool is awarded USPTO Design patent #283,856.The original rocking stool was created in a wood shop. The stools were hand-turned of solid wood and sold to friends and colleagues: designers, woodworkers, artists, sailmakers.
1999-2002: First manufactured version of the stool, called the Unistool. Because of its innovative and healthful design, it was sold in the Museum of Modern Art's Design Store in New York.
A participating architect in the Museum of Modern Art's Un-private House exhibition recommended the stool to the museum shop. The design was adapted for manufacturing, with factory-built seat and piston; the base, however, was still handmade of wood.
2000 - 2005: Rocking stool developed for mass production.
2005 - 2006: Flexistool introduced to market. Out There Technologies (under the guidence of owner Jon Elmalah) began marketing the stool under the name Flexistool - this was to be the precursor to the Kore Stool.
2007 - 2008: The Kore Stool.
Recognizing a need for great ergonomic products that actually improved your health while being value priced, Out There Technologies released the Kore Stool - a combination of innovative design and quality with value pricing!
